
"Grumpy" considering the hours that the bakers work to supply hand-made gourmet breads inluding fruit loaf, fig and walnut sourdough, rosemary and sea salt sourdough and Turkish pide. The Russian-style black bread is from a recipe mix of chocolate, coffee and molasses. Originally inspired from Middle Eastern flavours, chef specialities include the savoury borekas and sambusek (Israel-style pitta bread with fetta, olives and spinach) with sesame seeds. You can also buy baguettes, rustica, ciabatta, multi-grain loaves and challah and white high-top loaves, and sweet pastries, pies and cakes. The gourmet breads are cooked daily at "The Grumpy Baker's" kitchen in Darlinghurst, Sydney and have a strong following of devotees.
